African Bush Camps Foundation

African Bush Camps Foundation is a non-profit organization working in communities on the outskirts of wildlife reserves in Zimbabwe and Botswana. The foundation is committed to empowering rural communities and is involved in a wide variety of community development and conservation efforts, including: education; income-generating activities; healthcare; clean water projects; and hosting programs that promote conservation awareness.

Mambanje is a remote rural community on the outskirts of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. The majority of the community are subsistence farmers and struggle to make ends meet in this arid area. In the midst of the community is Mambanje Primary School which has 120 students from grade 0 – grade 7. Lack of reliable water is one of the greatest challenges for the school and the residents of Mambanje.

Over the years, African Bush Camps Foundation has worked to install new boreholes and access points for the community of Mambanje and the primary school.
