Bushlife Conservancy is a section 501(c)(3) registered charity in the United States, dedicated to the protection and conservation of wildlife and habitats in Africa, primarily in the Zambezi River Valley of Zimbabwe and Zambia. Bushlife Conservancy accomplishes this mission primarily by funding the work of the Bushlife Support Unit Trust, a Zimbabwe nonprofit that focuses on anti-poaching efforts.
The most important work that Bushlife Support Unit Trust undertakes is anti-poaching, which is complex, dangerous and requires a rigorous and systematic approach. Bushlife Support Unit Trust provides equipment and logistical support for ranger patrols and coordinates efforts to identify, detain and arrest poachers throughout the Zambezi River Valley.
Grant #1 – June 2016
Empowers Africa made a grant to support the Bushlife Conservancy, specifically toward the efforts of their anti-poaching team. This grant will help fund the activities of a group of trackers and rangers who tirelessly patrol the Zambezi River Valley and surrounding areas in the search of poachers, snares and other hazards to wildlife on both land and river
