CHILDREN IN THE WILDERNESS
Children in the Wilderness (CITW) is an independent non-profit organization established and supported by Wilderness Safaris. Through our partnership with Wilderness Wildlife Trust (WWT), Empowers Africa is able to distribute funds from U.S. donors to CITW via WWT. Through our established 501(c)(3), we are able to provide these organizations with a cost effective solution to fundraising in the United States by acting as their fiscal sponsor.
CITW’s overall goal is to facilitate sustainable conservation through leadership development of rural children in Africa. CITW works to promote childhood education by alleviating major inhibiting factors like hunger and poverty. They also manage a program called CITW Children’s Camp in partnership with Wilderness Safari Camps, where they give children from rural communities the opportunity to engage in unique environmental education projects.
