Empowers Africa Makes a Grant to Escola Doada Pela Azura on Benguerra Island, Mozambique

Empowers Africa recently made a grant to build a kitchen at the only school on Benguerra Island in Mozambique. The school was built and sponsored by the Azura’s Rainbow Fund. Escola Doada Pela Azura is a primary school that has approximately 360 children in attendance from grades 1 to 7. The kitchen will enable the school to implement a feeding program for the students. This grant would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our trustee Nina Griscom and her husband Leo Piraino, and Azura Retreats for donating a trip to our auction.
