On Sunday, August 8th, we held our 2021 annual film festival in celebration of World Lion Day & World Elephant Day in partnership with the Southampton Arts Center. The festival was a huge success; thank you so much to all who came along and to all our wonderful partners.
Our attendees gathered in the indoor screening room of the Southampton Arts Center to enjoy The Edge of Existence, a full feature documentary made by Black Bean Productions. Black Bean Productions produces films with cause-related, purpose-filled content about, among other subjects, important conservation issues in Africa. The Edge of Existence features communities living along side of the Serengeti National Park and aims to uncover the untold story of human-wildlife conflict in Africa. The screening also included a behind the scenes clip of Black Bean Productions’ experience filming the documentary and words from The Grumeti Fund, an NGO featured in the film.
“I am honored to celebrate the incredible work of Black Bean Productions who make very important films about pertinent conservation issues in Africa,” Krista Krieger, Chair of the Board & Executive Director.
We would like to say thank you also to Purist magazine, the evening’s media partner, and Brown Harris Stevens, the event’s sponsor. Additional support for film programming was provided by Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs.
