Congratulations to our partners at @ilearnabout_africa who were recently mentioned in Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta’s influential Dasputa Review, a ground-breaking report on Biodiversity commissioned by the UK Government, launched by Prince Charles (as he was then), Boris Johnson, and Sir David Attenborough.
When highlighting the importance of education, the Review stated that there is a lack of conservation education across the globe and cited the iAfrica Foundation’s iLearnabout e-learning initiative as working to change this.
Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta, who, in the David Attenborough documentary ‘Extinction’ concluded that one of the main solutions must be ‘about the education of our children on the way nature works’, stated ‘Your initiative is just the just the kind I have been hoping would be taken.’
The resource has also been well received by schools following a pilot study with key partners and is now looking to expand.
