Wilderness Safaris is a responsible luxury ecotourism company that exists to protect pristine wilderness areas and the flora and fauna that they support. Established in 1983, Wilderness Safaris operates camps and safaris in Botswana, Congo, Kenya, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Seychelles. The company is run by a group of like-minded wildlife enthusiasts who came together to build a successful safari business, delivering a unique experience for guests, fair returns for shareholders and stakeholders, while ensuring that Africa’s pristine wilderness areas remain sustainably protected.

WS offers wildlife, marine and heritage safaris in remote and pristine wilderness destinations are specialized, educational, explorative and fun. Camps and services are safe, hygienic, authentic and insightful of guests’ needs. Our “sustainable conservation through responsible tourism” policy shares the benefits of tourism with local communities and ensures the protection of these areas for future generations.

Wilderness Safaris is privileged to operate privately on over 8 million acres of Africa’s finest wildlife reserves in more than 70 lodges and camps.

Wilderness Safaris employs approximately 2 800 staff members across the seven countries, 85 per cent of whom are from neighboring communities.

Recognizing that conservation is as much about people as about the environment, the company has pursued important goals through its Children in the Wilderness program, as well as through the Wilderness Safaris Wildlife Trust, which have helped change the face of nature-based tourism in southern Africa.
