Did you know that every zebra has a unique stripe pattern? Scientists aren’t exactly sure why zebras have stripes, but one theory is that the stripes help keep flies off that can often carry deadly diseases.
Zebras are very social animals. They live in herds which are led by a mare (female zebra). The mare will usually have a few stallions (male zebras) and foals (baby zebras) in her herd.
While zebras may look like they are always running around, they actually spend most of their time grazing and can consume for up to 12 hours a day 🦓
