Working in close collaboration with the @kenyawildlifeservice and alongside research and conservation partners including @savetheelephants@tsavotrust monitors the elephant populations of Tsavo, with a specific emphasis on these magnificent large ‘tuskers’. Richard Moller, Chief Executive Officer, carries out this monitoring, with the indispensable help of a Super Cub light aircraft.⁣⁣

As well as contributing to scientific data collation, the reports transmitted real-time from Tsavo Trust’s aircraft assist KWS in mounting responses to identified threats to Tsavo’s elephants. Considering the sheer size and geography of the area being surveyed, no single effort can ever be a ‘catch-all’ solution, but the Tsavo Trust aircraft can make a measurable difference to the safety of elephants in Tsavo.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
We are proud to work with Tsavo Trust and play our part in helping these big tuskers remain part of the landscape of Tsavo 🐘

LU1 is a rather spectacular specimen isn’t he. We can’t get enough of him. Photo by our big tusker Richard Moller on November 20th.
