We couldn’t resist sharing this charming video of Daisy, one of the newest additions to the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary in South Africa – and we hope it puts a smile on your face!
Daisy arrived in the sanctuary in December, only a few hours old and with a serious infection, and has now been in the care of the team for around 7 weeks. During this time, the team have helped her with physio treatments to improve her walking and mobility, and hand-fed her milk to help her put on weight (although her best friend, Modjadji the zebra, is currently teaching her how to graze!). She is kept out of the sun as much as possible so as not to damage her skin (and sometimes receives a little massage to keep it moisturised), but she certainly enjoys playing and it’s amazing to see her go from strength to strength.
In the words of Care For Wild:
“This line of work takes you from the lowest lows to the highest highs. Extreme in its demands of dedication, commitment and time. It’s not an easy calling but the rewards take your breath away.”
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for everything you do and for looking after these beautiful creatures, keeping them safe from harm.
