This is the young Figlet, daughter of the Maasai Mara’s famous Fig. She’s heading for her second birthday and is successfully hunting for herself. With the rains, the area will quickly transform into an emerald haven, and baby antelope will appear en masse. This should be a good time for Figlet to improve her hunting skills and complete her independence. Her mother will have instilled the importance of trees and the safety that they provide from lions and hyaenas. She may be a small leopard, but Figlet has immense strength and will be able to carry her kills up into the branches where she will be able to eat at leisure, a luxury not available to many predators. #ThisIsMyTrophy #BigCats #leopardportrait #Figlet
