Tsavo is one of the oldest national parks in Kenya and is made up of two separate parks – Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks. Combined, Tsavo Park is the largest park in Kenya and one of the largest game sanctuaries in the world, covering 22,000 km2 (13,671 miles).
It is notable for its vast herds of dust-red elephants and breathtaking scenery. It is also home to all the African Big 5: Elephants, Rhinos, Buffaloes, Lions, and Leopards. Additionally, it has over 500 recorded species of birds.
