Today is #MandelaDay in South Africa, a day to take action and inspire change, just like Mandela did every day. This year, the message seems more pertinent than ever, in a time where communities across the world have been affected by the devastating spread of COVID-19.
The day officially stands for alleviating poverty, including fighting malnutrition and hunger, providing safe shelter, education and sanitation, and generally dedicating resources to the eradication of poverty and inequality. Across the world, many are taking action, no matter how big or small, to help. Let us join them.
