@sophy_roberts has just been in the Kyambura Gorge, Uganda, to visit the incredible (but small) population of 27 chimpanzees. The gorge is in Queen Elizabeth National Park but sadly these chimps have been all but isolated from the rest of the park as a result of deforestation and encroaching communities.
Help is at hand, howver, and the team of dedicated rangers, along with Volcanoes Kyambura Lodge, are doing everything they can to protect the chimpanzees. It’s tireless and often thankless work but it’s these very people who will allow wildlife populations to flourish – and that’s what the world needs right now.
