Did you know that there are only around 20,000 wild lions left in Africa today? Sadly, that makes them rarer than rhinos, elephants or gorillas. Lions have disappeared from over 90% of their historic range, and their numbers have nearly halved in just 20 years. The main reasons for this alarming decline are loss of habitat, loss of wild prey, and conflict with local people.
Enter Lion Landscapes, a wonderful organisation that works with conservation partners and communities to create landscapes in which carnivores and people can exist together and thrive.
