Happy World Animal Day!
This day was first celebrated in March of 1925 and now coincides with the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of animals. Today is observed to raise awareness about the status of animals and the importance of preserving their habitats. It is used as a vehicle to make people more conscious of the impact that we as human beings and our activities have on the fauna.
In the current circumstances, it has become more crucial than ever to educate the masses and bring about legal and social reforms to improve animal welfare standards all over the world.
Let us remember that this world does not belong to humans alone. We are not the masters or owners of Earth, and we have no right to displace or take up the habitats of other creatures. Let us all strive to be more conscious of and sensitive to the needs of our voiceless counterparts.
