National Reptile Awareness Day was first celebrated by reptile lovers with an aim to change the public image of their beloved scaly friends. Since then, it has caught on and given us an opportunity to learn more about these animals and appreciate them.
There are around 10,000 species belonging to the cold-blooded class of animals known as reptiles, such as lizards, snakes, crocodiles, and turtles. Several reptiles are at peril and on the brink of extinction due to human exploitation and habitat degradation.
Today, share your enthusiasm for our reptilian companions by promoting education and conservation of the various species.
