Today, we’re sharing this adorable photo from the lovely people at David Sheldrick in Nairobi. But although it’s incredibly cute, it’s also a reminder of why organisations like the @sheldricktrust matter – because without them, these amazing animals wouldn’t have nearly as high a chance of survival.⁣

We’re so proud to work with @sheldricktrust and a big thank you from all of us at Empowers for the work you do ⁣❤️ #Repost @sheldricktrust with @get_repost

Did you know that baby elephants are highly susceptible to pneumonia? In the wild, their mums would protect them from the elements, but we have to get a bit more creative with the orphans in our care. That’s why, at the Nursery, we bundle up the smallest babies in cosy blankets. Just like a human child, some orphans become extremely attached to their “blankie” and everything that it represents. Murit (pictured here as an infant) loved to be swaddled and his blankies served him well, but those days are long behind him — he’s now five years old and learning the ways of the wild in Tsavo!
