Supporting Communities and Endangered Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

There are approximately 880 mountain gorillas left on our planet. They are found in three countries in Africa: Rwanda, Uganda and the DRC. These photos were taken by various travelers during our visit to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Since then Empowers Africa has supported several schools just a short hike from where these magnificent gorillas live. We have provided water guttering and catchment systems, expanded an income generating project, sponsored educational and living expenses for students, provided new mattresses for boarders and built new bathrooms. We are now looking at providing solar power to one of the schools. Empowers Africa believes in uplifting the local communities who share the forest with this incredible species.
