Martha McGuinness in Kenya: The Sarara Foundation & Reteti

Empowers Africa trustee, Martha McGuinness, recently travelled to Kenya to spend some time with our partners and friends on the ground. The Sarara Foundation is located within Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy in northern Kenya. The 850,000 acre area is home to the Samburu, semi-nomadic pastoralists who have lived in the region for centuries. The mission of the Foundation is to help the Samburu maintain their cultural identity and traditions while protecting their land and wildlife and enabling them to economically thrive in a modernizing world.
