Our latest update from Paula Franklin, in the field visiting @singita_ ‘s beautiful camps in the Kruger area of South Africa, is about the incredible ‘Teaching & Technology’ program. In South Africa, children go from learning in their native tongue to learning in English in the 4th grade and their grades inevitably drop, especially in math. This program has been designed to facilitate English learning by harnessing the power of technology- something we probably all take for granted.
Along with the Mpumalanga Department of Education and the European Space Agency (ESA), Singita has equipped rural classrooms with laptops, tablets, projectors and loudspeakers. Then, with the help of satellite communications, children and teachers can access the internet and a world of educational programs, online tutorials and training courses.
