Today’s update from our team in the field in South Africa: collaring elephants! With an elephant poached almost hour in sub-Saharan Africa, it’s imperative that we do everything we can to protect them. Collaring allows us to keep track of numbers, and understand the social integration and behaviour of elephant herds, and how they interact with their environment.
Thanks to @jamessuter for the footage and to @wildlandssa and @wildlife_act for hosting our team over the last few days- a crucial learning experience in the journey to protecting the continent’s animals 🙏🏼
