We are delighted to announce that yesterday, we had a new southern white rhino calf born, bringing our total to an amazing 184 rhinos on Ol Pejeta 🦏! When you are one of the largest rhino sanctuaries in the world, every day is a celebration. But when a new calf is born, there is even more happiness in the air 🥳.
This is certainly fantastic news for us and for rhino conservation as a whole . With the Kenyan Wildlife Service (@kenyawildlifeservice) announcing that ZERO rhino were poached in the country 🇰🇪 in the year 2020 things are definitely moving in the right direction. It is moments like this that remind us that what we are doing is making a real difference to protecting endangered wildlife and only encourages us further to fight to save them .
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is proud to provide a safe sanctuary to 144 black rhinos, 38 southern white rhinos and of course, the last two northern white rhinos on the planet . We would like to say a big thank you to all of our donors and partners who continue to support us and make moments like this possible. Asante Sana !
Stay tuned and we will bring you more updates on the new calf in the weeks to come!
