Ganyani Day Care Centre, Singita Lowveld Trust (SLT)

While on the ground in South Africa last month, our trustees visited the Ganyani Day Care Centre in the Mpumalanga area of South Africa, supported by the Singita Lowveld Trust. In 2022, Empowers Africa granted USD 6,000 to the SLT to install and equip chalkboard walls in 63 classrooms at the 17 under-resourced preschools in the area. The walls are designed to promote coordination and spatial awareness in young children, and the trustees were privileged to paint the first chalkboard on the wall. Approximately 1500 children from 18 months to age six will make use of (and no doubt celebrate!) the walls, and we were delighted to be involved in the inaugural painting session.
