Empowers Africa Makes a Grant to Support the Nkuringo Integrated Model School
Empowers Africa recently made a grant to expand the mushroom growing business at the Nkuringo Integrated Model School in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. Serving 154 vulnerable elementary and middle school pupils, the school was formed in 2013 to give its students formal and vocational training. The grant specifically went toward building a mushroom kitchen and grow house. The mushrooms will provide essential nutrition to the students and the business model will supplement the school’s operating budget. Empowers Africa is proud to support this promising, sustainable project.
