The iAfrica Foundation, a UK based charity, is focused on developing education, conservation and livelihoods in rural Africa. Their ambitious new project, ‘iLearnabout’, is a digital-based conservation curriculum that they hope to roll out across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The initiative has gathered momentum during the pandemic. There is, sadly, no better time to address the urgent need for digital learning and teaching that will reinforce and embed a knowledge of vital environmental conservation issues for future generations in Africa.
During lockdown, the team developed a structure of education materials that reflect the UN Sustainable Development Goals. After testing with key partners in Kenya, Zambia and South Africa, the feedback was unanimously positive. In fact, everyone would like to use it with schools and clubs sooner rather than later!
